DETAILS

The transition that shifted the world; air to water. This RUF RGT is the peak of naturally aspirated, high-revving, flat six technology of the era, providing an experience that to this day has been unmatched. Our 2001 RUF RGT is one of only 17 made and marked a seismic shift in our history as it is one of the most important cars for RUF as a manufacturer. The RGT was the beginning of a new era of water-cooled engines and was the first vehicle RUF made that was fully homologated for the US.
Built on our body-in-white architecture, the RUF RGT was a triumph. A high revving 3.6 liter flat six producing 385 horsepower, a redline of almost 8000 RPM, lightweight chassis that is reinforced with stitch welding and integrated roll cage, light rev-happy flywheel, the perfect six speed ratio gearbox, RUF developed suspension, and a mechanical throttle cable, provide the most raw and connected water-cooled driving experience ever engineered. The RGT was available at a time where E-gas had already made its way to the market and took away the instantaneous response and advantages of cable throttles, giving the lucky few that owned one, a driving experience no one can match. Under our stewardship the car got a clean bill of health with service being done to the vehicle in addition to new paint on the mirrors, front bumper, and side skirts, a full cryo cleaning treatment to the underside and all four corners of the car, new Michelin Cup 2 tires, reupholstery of the interior with new grey Alcantara Recaro Clubsport buckets color matched to the midnight blue exterior, paint correction and ceramic coating of the original paint. Having only 19500 miles reflected, the vehicle has been well taken care of. Delivered new through RUF’s Japanese importer, Ishida Engineering, to its original enthusiast owner. It was then sent to North America through Canadian importers that re-homed it with its previous owner in the US whom we acquired it from and curated it to its current condition today. With one of the most complete histories we’ve seen on a car of this caliber, this RGT is being sold with its keys, manuals, accompanying records, RUF Zertifikat, additional ordering options booklets, and a clean bill of health stamped by RUF North America.
