Developed in 1992, the RCT, standing for ‘Ruf Carrera Turbo,’ was powered by a 3.6 liter, turbocharged flat six engine that produces 376 horsepower to the rear wheels via a short shifted 6-speed transmission or optional electronic clutch. In 2020, RUF launched their Modern Classic program and began their RCT Evo project. The RCT Evo became further amplified after an engine overhaul seeing the 3.6L engine increased to 425 horsepower. The RCT Evo is a car that combines incredible supercar power and performance with refinement and comfortability.
Presented is an authentic W09-chassis RUF RCT EVO, accompanied by its RUF ‘Zertifikat’ issued in November 2025, confirming an original production date of 1995.
In January 2024, with 45,606 miles recorded, the Guards Red-over-black RCT returned to RUF’s headquarters in Pfaffenhausen for an extensive mechanical and cosmetic restoration, culminating in a full factory RCT EVO conversion. Increasing the 3.6L flat six from 405hp to 425hp with a Motronic EMS and new cylinder heads with larger valves from the 993 engine.
At the heart of the transformation was a complete engine-out rebuild to RCT EVO specification. The flat-six was fully revised and upgraded with an enhanced turbocharger, while the intercooler and heat exchangers were disassembled and overhauled. Chassis and mechanical improvements included new front wishbones, brake discs, pads, hydraulic lines, and control units, along with fresh ignition wires, new front seat belts, and replacement door seals. The cabin includes renewed RECARO bucket seats, while the car received the 19-inch RUF five-spoke alloy wheels it wears today, fitted with new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.
Following its return from Germany, the RCT EVO underwent additional refinement in June 2026 receiving an installation of a modern electric air-conditioning system, enhancing usability without compromising the car’s character. During the same visit, the rear bumper was refinished, new front lighting and rear taillights were installed, and the braking system was flushed with fresh fluid.
Fresh from its comprehensive factory transformation in Pfaffenhausen, chassis 06001 presents as an exceptional example of the RUF RCT EVO. Producing 425 turbocharged horsepower through a six-speed manual gearbox, it delivers the uniquely engaging analog driving experience and air-cooled performance that have established the RCT as one of the most revered models ever to emerge from RUF.
