DETAILS
The only way RUF could follow up the iconic CTR1 (aka Yellowbird) was by going back to the drawing board and bringing to life the CTR2. Crowned the world’s fastest production car of 1995, the CTR2 was a limited run send-off of the aircooled platform, based on the 993 architecture. Powered by a 3.6 liter twin turbo, the CTR2 came in two variants; the 520 horsepower CTR2 and 580 horsepower CTR2 Sport.
This example is an incredibly unique vehicle ordered as a Widebody CTR2 Sport with one of around 4 adjustable all-wheel-drive systems made. Finished in a menacing Black over full green leather interior, this CTR2 Sport has been updated with recent services and was sent back to the factory early in its life. Upon its full refresh at the factory, the car was updated to approved PSS10 coil overs and received the current green interior.
The original Beddor family owned this vehicle til 2007. Then, it traded hands to another well known collector in the RUF world before the party we acquired it from sold it in 2019. This car was highly revered by RUF collectors globally with it having been owned by the Beddor family, known for even hosting the wedding of our founder Alois Ruf and his wife and now CEO of RUF Automobile, Estonia Ruf.
Being a ground breaking moment in our history with some of the first uses of carbon-kevlar technology, the CTR2 not only was a speed record breaking vehicle but also an immense advancement in technology in composite materials as well. A truly special moment in our history and a follow up to the iconic CTR1 Yellowbird that cemented our impact in the automotive industry once more.
